Empowering Researchers
In today’s research environment, scientists are increasingly called upon to step out of their comfort zone - look for grants, apply to grants, contribute to proposals, look into funding aspects, take management responsibilities, communicate …
Few researchers are however familiar with this topics, especially early in their independent careers, and few receive formal, specific training in funding strategy, impact considerations, dissemination, regulations - or a glossary on PM terminology. This gap can make it challenging to balance daily work, project work and the wide range of associated administrative and regulatory challenges. And this is a limit to (confidently) step into leadership roles or even just to commit to presenting first research projects.
We want to equip scientists with the practical tools, insights - and confidence - needed to set out, survive, and thrive in this environment. We have significant experience in identifying and targeting the right grant opportunities—whether at the EU or national level. All the way from helping out in preparing conference abstracts and posters to developing long-term funding strategies with diverse portfolios, for specific career and work goals.
How can we assist ?
-
We offer clear, accessible overview sessions that demystify the landscape of EU funding. These sessions explain the structure and objectives of key programmes such as Horizon Europe, outline the various funding instruments available, and help researchers understand where their expertise and research profiles best fit. Our goal is to make the funding system approachable and relevant, regardless of your previous experience.
-
Assistance on how to structure your proposal for clarity, and align your application with the expectations of EU evaluators.
We can help refit your idea into proposals fit for specific evaluation criteria, while advising on how to communicate your project’s excellence, impact, and implementation potential in a way that resonates with reviewers - on a case by case basis, and for specific scientific objectives and purposes. -
A successful research career often ends up depending on a well-planned funding strategy - from supporting your first PhD student to acquiring the equipment your group requires.
We help you identify suitable calls, map out a stepwise approach to gaining funding experience, and plan how to balance individual and collaborative roles. We offer one-to-one or small group mentoring to help you develop the skills needed for effective, short- and long-term, sustainable project development and coordination -
For researchers new to competitive funding or those taking on responsibility for specific work packages. We can provide guidance on contributing to collaborative proposals, or coordinating yours.
We can also support with writing of the overarching sections (impact, sustainability, communication & dissemination, exploitation); understanding the requirements of different sections, and ensuring your input strengthens the overall submission, while guaranteeing your contributions are effectively recognized. -
We design and deliver practical, hands-on workshops tailored to the needs of your institution, department, or research group. These sessions use real-world examples and interactive exercises to build skills in proposal writing, project management, and EU funding navigation. Our workshops are suitable for researchers at all career stages, with a particular focus on empowering early-career scientists to engage confidently with funding opportunities.
